story problems
I dreamt that I realized I lived a few hours from Disney World. The brief and genuine joy, the near sense of relief, I experienced at the moment is almost embarrassing. Naturally, being a dream, it all became very complicated.

At some point Agent Riley Finn, Buffy's ex, was some past entanglement of my own and was giving me a hard time for not wanting to consider a visit to Animal Kingdom on my day trip because I'd rather wait until I could return there with Mike. Because I rushed there on my first trip, I could only stay a few hours, and you know how when time is limited in dreams you never seem to be able to get up from the table, something that's upsetting even at the time.

Then I returned with my mother and we stopped at a house/restaurant for pizza. The Little Old Lady(tm) kept telling me that I'd need to turn right when we left to find my way home. She told my Mom that she'd told me this yesterday when I'd gone before. I suppose she might've, but on this day we wanted to go left and explore something. It was awkward.

Then there was the inevitable bathroom motif. I returned to the woman's restaurant to use the restroom. Before doing so I'd tried to give the camcorder to my mother, who was browsing an antique shop next door, but Mom didn't want the responsibility. When the woman saw me taking the video camera into the restroom, she drew some unhealthy conclusions and started giving me a hard time, but I got away. Once I got in, I could see why she'd fear photographic documentation. I wonder if I dream of skanky toilets as part of the mind's agenda to wake me up before I do anything.

Somewhere in all of this there was a river, about 45 minutes from home where one made a major turnoff from whatever road was taking us to Disney World. Many of my papers, much just junk mail, were on the wet sandy riverbank and some were sloshing into the current. I kept making notes to myself everytime I passed to pick up some of the more important ones on the bank before they were lost. I wondered then chose not to wonder about what might already be gone.

I knew that exit was 45 minutes from home, but for the life of me I couldn't work out how long it took to get to Disney World from that point. Was WDW close enough for a long day trip? Or would it always have to be a few hours with half-days of tiresome driving on each end? I kept trying to sort this out so I could go the next day, or as soon as possible, but the information was hopelessly hazed from my mind.
