And what about my way-cool subscription to the Unabridged Merriam-Webster? They don't even have the word! Thanatologist, oui, but nothing to reassure me that I'm not putting the stress somewhere weird with thanatopsis,
However, I did discover OneLook, which displays results from several online dictionaries at once.

Um. Well. Apparently all of those sound file links work just fine. It's Internet "I'm only intuitive when it suits my interests" Explorer that bails and does a 404 when clicking on a WAV link. I went via Netscape and it worked just fine, even recognized that I'm a WinAmp Girl and asked if I wanted to do it that way.
Good ole Netscape. These six months or so of IE are putting the taint on me. If only N7 would allow teensy toolbars, I'd be all over it and all its beautiful tabbed browsing, leaving IE to moments of thanatopsis. Hm. I think I'll check for a Netscape update.
(P.S. Than-a-TOP-sis - I was right!)
