biopoems
(Hear ye, hear me) This blog is a spinoff of the biopoem post in my diary, just in time for next semester's poetry class and a future filled with explaining to restless teens why poetry is nice, when personally I think most poetry is awful (every trite syllable of mine included).
[Note: I later spun this "blog" back into main one -- sorry for any confusion.]
Plan (subject to change and changeback):
- Provide a poetic form and theme prompt here every Wednesday.
- Possibly discuss form.
- Give own example.
- Encourage visitors to similarly expose themselves through a comment (link or post).
- Posts related to poetry from perspective of one who generally dislikes poetry as the brain warrants.
The BioPoem
adapted from a zillion sources, including http://www.bcpl.net/~dcurtis/psd/handouts/s2-39/
Write a poem using this structure:
Person's name
Their location or relationship to someone else (try to do both in one!)
Four traits of this person's character
"Lover of" (list three things)
"Who feels" (list three things)
"Who needs" (list three things)
"Who fears" (list three things)
My first attempt:
Mike
by ShariMichael.
Singing, pecking, laughs, brightens
From the Nairn-Bairn
Lover of cold stone cream,
little souls,
me
Who feels ready,
incredulous, and joyful
Who needs nets,
and bounces,
and sleep
Who fears fools,
aliens,
me

tight. liked it
