Visual Victuals, Unlogged
While student teaching, I didn't keep up the reading log. Or the movie log. And now, now that it's time to do my yearly tally so I can feel bad about how little I've read or how many movies I've downloaded for free, I don't remember what all I've been using my eyes to stare at.

Movies I'm sure I watched because I see where I paid for them on Movielink:

  • Jerry Maguire (first 45 minutes -- liars, this is not a remake of The Apartment!)
  • Ella Enchanted (cute)
  • Connie and Carla (bleh)
  • Cold Mountain (hmm)
  • The Prince and Me (eh)
  • The Whole Ten Yards (eh)
  • Mystic River (hrm)
  • Tiptoes (bleh)
  • The Perfect Score (eh)
  • The Company (bailed pretty quickly)

Because of the recent student teaching, I remember seeing:

  • Spirited Away (neat -- borrowed DVD from teacher)
  • Becket (very good)
  • Macbeth (Polanski's version -- good head roll)
  • The Sword in the Stone (only saw bits -- seemed kind of kooky/loud)

And in a fit of late night desperation in the used DVD section:

  • Le Divorce (bleh)
  • Scotland, PA (haven't watched, just trying to get the numbers up here)

Unfortunately, I don't have a list of books. Which may be my way of covering up that while student teaching I only read magazine articles and stuff from the Outlander series. Since student teaching I've read a few things, but what were they? American Gods, already noted in another post. The Boy Next Door by Meg Cabot. (An adult-age novel that seems to be an equally inventive prequel to Boy Meets Girl.) Er, Haunted, by Meg Cabot. (I can always claim adolescent fiction is for professional development.)

I know I've read more, other than the book I finished the other day, which gets its own post, by the by. I mean, I'm now on my third batch of library books since last week -- surely they haven't all been going back almost-unread? (Like Candace Bushnell's Trading Up and several well-intentioned books on algebra.)

Yawn.

Update (17 Dec 04)
Oh yes, I did watch Shaun of the Dead (good stuff) and also read Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (good if you liked the first one and wanted more), come to think of it.
