Iron Woman

The weather goes up goes down goes up goes down. Goes up. Goes down. I think it's related to the sun. Sniffles at night and tongue lolling out of mouth during the day.

I'm making my way through that To Do list (see last post), but new things keep being added. STOP THAT.

Today:

  • Buy the school yearbook.
  • Go to ATM so I can buy the school yearbook.
  • Put away impulse pizza from last night. (Little Caesars is finally ghetto to me. And did you know that Pizza Inn was still alive and kicking? But not in Nevada.)
  • Iron shirt for today.
  • Put gas in the car.
  • Grade the rest of last week's tests.
  • Grade this week's tests.
  • Remember to take a Multi-V Vitamin Water (lemonade flavour! on sale!) to work.
  • Rearrange all of the desks in my class. (I do this every few days, sure, but it takes time that could be spent grading.)
  • Don't let anything happen between now and my prep that makes me too sad to grade during said prep, forcing me to do it "later" which means "during a far more inconvenient time." (Not usually a concern, but yesterday ended up being just that kind of bad day. However, it was a bad day I had been expecting for a long time, and now it is over. Except, I think I made a tiny clerical error - normally easily forgivable - so I may have to take my lumps in the form of one more bad day. But then it will be over. I hope.)

And that's just this morning's TD list. There is still the matter of finishing the previous TD list plus buying airline tickets to Texas for this summer and cleaning out the big closet and let's not even talk about the kitchen counter.

Actually, I better go clean that kitchen counter. I need space to iron. So I have a shirt to wear to work. So I can go to work. So I can teach paraphrasing and citation. Or so I can be brave. Whichever.

It's coming. June. Really. Or so they tell me.

But you know what comes after June?

Well, July. True...

...but you know what comes after that?

Yeah. August.
That's how I think now.

I know: for shame, for shame...

Oh, I know. I do it too. I'm in a state of bliss from the last day of school until July 4. Once you're on the other side of Independence Day, it's just a death march til the first day of school.

*sigh* Does this mean we need new jobs?
