I'd love to discuss how exquisite the Kindle is, maybe even share the snazzy motto I made up for it, but I'm too busy reading to write.

It's dang exquisite.

Also, do you realize how easy it is for anyone to publish their content (unpublished novel, misc rantings, overpriced-in-paperback-and-extremely-out-of-date 500-page trip report covering Walt Disney World and Las Vegas cough) to the Kindle Store?

It's really easy.
